Kohinoor ropes was established in 1984 and has grown into a group of companies with a combined annual turnover of 100 cr+, committed for excellence in an integrated rope business based on R&D, Production, Quality Control, Processing, Marketing, Sales and Extension with was the sole goal of ushering prosperity to customers both at the national and global level.

Kohinoor offers customized varieties of colours and designs, Packaging, Customized nets, fabricated as per requirement articles.catering to Industrial use, Shipping, Agriculture, Fishing, and Aquaculture. Products are available in various twisted and braided varieties.

Challenges

  • Kohinoor ropes has complex multi-staged manufacturing of Ropes and Nets with calculations at each stage, based on various parameters. Kohinoor needed a completely customized ERP solution to map each and every production scenario, and various reports to monitor the processes, and generate outputs for quality testing.
  • The main criteria for selection have been easy to use customized solution that can monitoring operation wise progress and efficiency of production processes

Timeline

We had a very tough timeline of 6 months, Both KRIPL and RPM worked hard to fulfil the requirement, despite COVID-19 issues, during the main phase of user testing.

Process

We had interactive business workshop sessions in which our team along with the process owners of the respective departments and discussed their SOP with all the minute details processes. The business Blueprint document was thus prepared and validated by top management. We analysed and mapped the solution. We organized department wise training sessions, of the mapped solution., much before go-live to get user comfort and satisfaction.

Solutions

  • We mapped various requirement within SAP-B1 by using SAP Standard functionality, also we developed customised Add-ons such as “Production, Planning and Manufacturing ROPE-NET-TWINE add-on“ to meet the customer-specific requirements.
  • As a part of the solution, we built in Business Rules, Approval workflows as required by the client.
  • To improve the user efficiency in transaction processing, we provided automated data capture by using FMS technique.
  • We developed customized reports for monitoring machine wise operations and shift wise efficiency for departmental users.

Results

  • The Master Data of items, customers, vendors, operation wise Machine has been cleansed.
  • There is a transparency and accuracy in-process data, users can quickly access the real-time completely linked data, this, along with MRP runs is helping users to track inventories, meet daily production targets.
  • The further data analysis will help departmental heads in identifying process bottlenecks
