• Kitten was having a huge CRM database and also participates into exhibition and trade fairs. Creating opportunity and updating stages its stages for all quotations send was difficult considering the number of transactions posted. Quotation Revision with versioning concept was a mandatory requirement with keeping previous versions intact.
• The other important challenge was to authorize users for adding / editing/removing of items in a Production Order. Standard SAP feature does not allow this and opens Production Order form in editable or Uneditable mode based on the authorization assigned in General Authorization.

We had a detailed discussion for implementing both the requirement. The standard process could not be used to achieve this and hence we created add-ons for both the requirement.

The add-ons were developed, tested and deployed in the live system is not more than 30 days.

• A new add-on was created for Quotation revision requirement. Quotations are created in the system once the alert is received by Quotation department based on Opportunity created. In the case of amendments, a revision of an existing quotation is created, a new transaction is posted in the system for revision. Validation is set in a system where a Quotation is Uneditable if its status is changed to Open – Printed.
• All Quotations are first created with a Revision number as ‘R0’. A button is created on the Quotation transaction which copies all the details in the existing transaction to a new transaction by incrementing the Revision number. Suppose an ‘R0’ transaction is revised then the new transaction number would be ‘R1’. As soon as the latest version of the quotation is added in the system the previous version is automatically closed.
• History is maintained for every quotation through revisions. The final accepted revision of Quotation is later converted into a Sales Order.
• A different Authorization add-on was created for setting user wise authorization. There was a different set of authorization to add / edit/delete functions in Production Order. Users were allowed to edit the line items in the Production Order with accordance to the authorization set by the administrator.
