About the client
Fiabila India is a joint venture of Clarion Group, leveraging the expertise and technical know-how of Fiabila France. A fast-growing group company, Fiabila India manufactures a wide range of nail enamel products including base, gel, nail enamel, colour solution and nail care products.
Challenges
- Fiabila India produces more than 1,00,000 shades of nail polish, and almost 250 new shades get introduced every fortnight. Thus they need to keep accurate and easily retrievable recipes of all the lacs of finished products.
- There is also a huge variety of packing materials: bottles, brushes, caps, shade labels, cartons which need to be individually identified and tracked, the raw materials need to be stocked batch-wise with expiration date control.
- Being in cosmetics, there is a requirement for complete traceability of batches of raw materials used in the production, and batches produced and delivered to customers.
- There are special business scenarios, where some of the manufactured bulk is sold as it is and some of it is further packed as per end customer’s specifications of bottle types, pack size and shade labels.
- The client also faces challenges of shade matching and actual recipe of a production batch may deviate from the defined BOM. This also needs to be tracked and further used for refining the BOMs.
- The ERP solution needs to track the complete end to end business processes and provide financial integration.
- Fiabila needed a cost-effective cloud-managed solution, with a long term commitment from the software vendor and implementation partner.
- Fiabila also needed a solution that provides complete transparency and real-time operational control over the factory, from the corporate office.
The Process and Solution
- Conducted business workshops with the departments along with top management.
- Understood the specific challenges of nail polish manufacture and shade matching.
- For managing Bill of Materials for ever-increasing SKUs ( finished products), RPM provided customised excel sheet to automate the creation of master data, trained the identified responsible persons to prepare the excel sheet and upload master data using SAP B1 ‘s DTW tool.
- Automated the rules for financial postings, and provided interlocks so that the production entry errors are avoided.
- Configured the solution to capture each batch sheet with the actual usage of raw materials, and provide closure date based on the curing time for the colour building process.
- Mapped the Master Data to meet the requirement of selling of semi-finished goods for specific customers.
- For the top management, RPM developed approval workflows for close monitoring of purchases, through a mobile interface. RPM also built dashboards for quick monitoring of Sales, Purchases and Inventory.
- Developed customized GSTR1, GSTR2 & GSTR3B reports for ease of GST filing.
