The company excels in manufacturing and development of topical formulations which touches millions of patients globally. Challenges
- As Encube Ethicals (India) wanted an integrated ERP solution, that interacts with Encube US and also connected software systems of EDI, 3PL and Contract Management as necessary in US pharma distribution, to improve process efficiency and accuracy. The objective has been to manage US operations with minimum staff and enable US practices of drug distribution and charge-back mechanism using the software solution.
- As a world’s best ERP solution, with extensibility and customization based on the client’s needs, SAP B1 has been selected. RPM is selected due to its expertise in SAP B1, coupled with domain knowledge of the pharma sector and specialized skills to fulfil integration and automation needs
Process
We had deep detailed Interactions with the core team members from Encube Ethicals (India) and Encube Ethicals Inc. (USA), to understand the processes. As the automation was involved, we also studied the working of the 3 major external systems that would be part of the ERP solution. The process blueprint was finalized in consult with Encube and requirements of integration were documented and frozen before starting development.
Solutions
- The solution is tightly integrated with the EDI system to capture customer’s purchase orders and fulfil it through the third party logistics arrangement.
- Sales order, inbound delivery and generation of good receipts in US 3rd party warehouse, outbound delivery from there and invoice transactions are automatically generated, based on data exchange between SAP-B1, EDI and 3PL software systems.
- Customer A/R invoices are further uploaded to Contract Management system and Credit notes for charge-back are automatically generated based on charge-back invoices raised in the contract management system.
- The only manual entries in the SAP Business One is for creation of the Sales Blanket Agreement and Delivery document in draft mode with a selection of batch-wise finished products
- SAP B1 based solution has more features of maintaining DEA Drug Enforcement Admin Number, exchange of master data as required, and reports of transaction logs to monitor and ensure smooth running.
Result
The software solution runs with complete automation, and reports to track sales, inventories and charge-back transactions.
