Radhika Opto Electronics Private Limited is involved in the manufacture of electricity distribution and control apparatus. Radhika Industries is an OEM supplier to the lighting industry in India, supplying to large companies such as Surya, Phillips, Bajaj Electricals, Hevells, Wipro, Finolex, CG Consumer and Electricals and many others.

Challenges

  • Radhika industries supplier base is local as well as outside India. Being in the manufacture of LED products, there are import duty concessions, which are applicable within the stipulated time of consumption. The end to end ERP solution would need to have complete traceability with the bifurcation of the local and imported materials used in the manufacture right from its supply inventory, production, testing and dispatch.
  • As Radhika is only having 30 customers such as Surya, Phillips, Bajaj Electricals, Hevells, Wipro, Finolex, CG Consumer and Electricals and many others. As the demand of customer for the finished material is very high.
  • Radhika wants to have the 100 per cent control on the production process.
  • The ERP solution needs to be easy to operate with built-in checks and controls, stage-wise Quality testing and automated proposal during dispatch, giving preference to FG produced with imported materials.

Process

SAP B1 with its standard features and flexibility to develop custom-built rules, and additional functionalities fitted the requirement. RPM’s selection was based on expertise and experience in delivering and supporting the industry-specific solution and enabling data-driven decisions during operations

Solutions

  • We mapped various requirement within SAP-B1 by using SAP standard functionality, also we developed customised add-ons such as “Stage wise Production Control “, “ Master data synchronization” to meet the customer-specific requirements.
  • As a part of the solution, we built-in Business Rules, Approval workflows as required by the client. Ther are many validations developed to ensure the accuracy of business processes.
  • To improve user efficiency in transaction processing, we automated data capture, using the FMS technique. We developed reports for monitoring operations, for departmental users.

Results

The Master Data of items, customers, vendors, has been cleansed, There is transparency and accuracy in process data, users can quickly access the real-time completely linked data, The QC processes are built at each stage, to provide interlocks in material flows. This, along with MRP runs is helping users to track inventories, meet daily production targets. The further data analysis will help departmental heads in identifying process bottlenecks.
